Anne of Green Gables was the first musical i ever did. well, it was the first show i ever did (not counting sunshine generation)! lol, i was sooo excited you dont even know. the theatre was HUGE!!! and we had a live orchestra and amazing costumes and sets....it was awesome (of course it was my first and i was in 5th grade so i'm a bit biased). anyway...the show must of had over 100 people in it. it was one of those shows where you pay a bunch of money and are guarrenteed a part. i was in the ensemble, of course, and my satelite director was this guy andrew. i hope i never ever forget him. he was absolutely amazing! i learned so much from that guy, from that program. i mean we did improv, breathing excersises, theatre etiquette, everything! and he was soooo funny. he was like this little skiny redheaded guy with glasses, that would just get sooo excited when he talked that hed spit everywhere and jump up and down.....*giggles* it was sooo great. i remember one time he was talking about this show he saw, and how there was this guy who dropped a hat on stage and no one picked it up. so during the whole show there was this hat onstage and people would avoid it, they'd step over it just make it very obvious that it wasnt supposed to be there. and he thought that it was soo stupid! drama supposed to mirror real life, yeah? so if someone were to drop a hat in real life....you'd pick it up. it's not that difficult. and i remember him saying(you gotta picture this little red headed guy saying this) "IF THE HEAVENS WERE TO OPEN UP AND A GIANT METEOR WERE TO FALL TO EARTH you wouldn't just walk around it like nothing happened." Not life changing advice but for some reason that's always just stuck in my mind. lol, they say you never forgot you first show.
and i want to make sure that holds true!!!!
